Anna fiedler

Board member - Treasurer

Anna Fiedler grew up in Wisconsin and has been happy to call Maine home since 2011. Anna’s background in conservation, ecology, and systems thinking makes her a perfect fit for Hearty Roots and its mission to “get kids off the grid and into their hearts.” Anna has blazed a beautiful trail by supporting many Maine non-profits through grant writing, and Hearty Roots was among the many grateful recipients of her impactful work. “Anna’s talents are mind-blowing. She’s the perfect addition to our growing team. We’re stoked to have her with us in an official capacity,” said Haley Bezon, founder and executive director of Hearty Roots.

Anna holds a Master’s degree from Michigan State University in Entomology as well as a PhD in Entomology and Ecology. She currently works at Maine Farmland Trust as a Development Office and is dedicated to supporting Maine non-profits with their fundraising and organizational development. Anna played a key role in helping to form Midcoast Conservancy from five founding organizations in 2016 when she served as Director of Land Conservation. “I have a passion for supporting human wholeness through connecting people with nature and each other. My board service to Hearty Roots is a way to deepen that commitment."

In Anna’s off-time, you can spot her in the wild: berry-picking, doing art/craft projects with her daughter, cross-country skiing, or in/on the waters of Midcoast Maine. Anna has taught Nia mindful dance fitness since 2007 and enjoys creating space for others to connect together to tap into their power and well-being through movement.
