There are scholarship codes provided in the description section of the registration platform. You can choose the code that aligns with the fee amount that is most comfortable for your family’s budget, no questions asked. We believe that all families should have access to high quality outdoor programs.
Wondering about the sessions that span a wide age range? We will be breaking up the group to place your kids around similarly aged peers with age/ability appropriate adventures.
Not sure if your kid is ready? Maybe they’re hesitant? No problem, this is all very normal. When if you get in touch with us, we can brainstorm ways to support.

We are thrilled to offer a program for kids and teens to be embraced for all that they are, while immersed in outdoor programming with us. The Onion Foundation is a huge proponent for equitable access, and we are grateful for their support.
Our prices did increase for day camps. This is because we heard the request for longer days to support working families. (We went from 9am-3pm, to 8:3am-4pm.)
Adventure Mentor Interns (AMI’s) assist our Lead Adventure Mentors in conducting a variety of camp based activities, games, hikes, crafts, reflections, etc. Our goal is to create a fun environment that encourages kids to make friends and be active outdoors. Individuals must be engaging, patient, creative, and enjoy working with children in an outdoor setting. Adventure
Mentors are to build an environment that encourages affirmation, meaningful connections, and healthy mindsets. Most importantly AMI’s will provide a safe space for all participants to go on a journey of self-discovery.
The intention with this internship is to provide experiential job training for teens who want to work in early childhood or other camp based fields. This position is designed to train AMI’s for a paid position at Hearty Roots as an Adventure Mentor in future summer seasons. We also designed this internship as an opportunity to go towards volunteer hours needed for graduation, or to be used as a work trade experience for a teen coastal campout.
