mOST MONTHS, Hearty Roots pop-up camps are designed for kids to be kids. FOR OUR MAY POP-UP CAMP, WE ARE SHAKING THINGS UP A BIT AND OFFERING A PROGRAM FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO IDENTIFY AS A MOM — THAT’S RIGHT, WE’RE CELEBRATING MOMS THIS MONTH! wE INVITE ANY ONE WHO WILL BE CELEBRATED THIS MOTHER’S DAY TO JOIN US FOR A DAY OF PADDLING, CONNECTION, LAUGHTER, AND REFLECTION. a DAY FOR MOM’S TO JUST BE THE BEAUTIFUL HUMANS THAT THEY ARE!

Date: Saturday, May 13th

Time: 8:00am-2:00pm

Participants: Open to anyone being celebrated this Mother’s Day

Tentative Schedule:

• 7:30-8:00am: Arrive at Bremen Town Landing, prepare boats and gear

• 8:00-8:15am: Welcome, Introductions, Flow of the Day

• 8:15-8:30am: Mindful Movement

• 8:30-8:45am: Hit the water!

• 8:45-10:00: Paddle to Midcoast Conservancy’s Berger Preserve on Bremen Long Island

• 10:00-11:00: Hike from west side of Berger to the east side to explore the pebble beach, connect through movement, games, and laughter, and settle in for a waterside lunch

• 11:00-11:30: Lunch

• 11:30-12:15: Hike back to the west side of the island and prepare for our paddle back

• 12:15-1:30: Paddle back to Bremen Town Landing

• 1:30-2:00: Reflection and Closing Circle

• After 2:00: Schelp gear and boats

Pack List: Backpack and/or Dry Bag, Full Water Bottle, Warm Jacket and Layers, Winter Hat, Mittens, Sunscreen, Paddling Gear: Canoe/Kayak, Paddle, PFD, Safety Whistle, and any other safety gear.

What’s Provided: Snacks, Lunch, and Warm Drinks. We do have the ability to lend gear for paddling — if that would be helpful for you, please request gear in during the registration process.

Payment: $65

*Hearty Roots is transitioning to a new registration system and payment processor. Payment will now be required at the time of registration unless otherwise coordinated with Jess via jess@heartyroots.org.
