Sunbeam Adventure Day Camp welcomes 8-11 year olds who are neurologically and/or physically diverse to enjoy a week of fun and adventure on Knickerbocker Lake. Participants will get the opportunity to swim, paddle board, challenge themselves on a low ropes course, and explore the woods. This inclusive, supportive camp also invites participants to make new friends, foster independence, acknowledge self-worth, dig deep into their grit and resilience, and beam with smiles.

Camper Experience:
Hearty Roots Adventure Camps foster resilience and wellness for Maine youth through a fusion of outdoor adventure programming and social-emotional experiences. Relationship building, exploring, games, journaling, yoga, and mindfulness activities are all a part of the recipe for programming that not only encourages positive affirmation, meaningful connections, and healthy mindsets, it provides a safe space for all participants to go on a journey of self-discovery. All camps culminate in a Closing Circle where campers reflect upon and share their experiences with each other and their families!
Sunbeam session is open to 9-12 participants with 4-6 qualified adventure mentors for intentional supervision and purposeful group facilitation. Support persons of Sunbeam campers are welcome to spend a portion or all of the day at camp with us if they would prefer.
A pack list and additional camp details will be sent to families in the weeks leading up to the start of camp.
